Elesko, Palava 1, 2018
Elesko Winery are doing wondrous things, for Slovakian Wine. With a focus and intention, to get them firmly on the map, for quality and uniqueness. That means smaller yields, indigenous varietals and hands on winemaking to take extra skill and care both in the vineyard and winery to bring out that rich heritage and unique climate. Truly sustainable viticulture with organic practices yet not seeking certification.
Great name…even better wine…Smooth, creamy, vibrant and so rewarding. Notes of honey, almond, beeswax, white flowers, succulent peach, apricot, citrus, spice…It has a wide appeal, and a wonderful balance of freshness and delicious mouth feel.
A blend of Gewurtztraminer and Muller Thurgau. Coming from the region of Modra, in the Western reaches of Sloavkia’s wine growing region. It’s one of our all time new favourite wines. Fab with fish, cheese or equally on its own.
Notes: Dry, Aromatic, Medium Bodied
Pairings: Sushi, Miso Black Cod
